A lot of people started investing in the stock market recently but I believe a lot of people misunderstand speculation and investing. I found a great video by one of the best Investors of all time : Peter Lynch
In this short but informative video we can hear Peter Lynch talk about excessive speculation in the stock markets. His main message is that stocks are NOT lottery tickets
You can find the video on youtube : Peter Lynch “Stocks are not Lottery Tickets speech”
I think this is a very important message that any new Investor should think about before buying stocks or options on Apps like Robinhood. Long term is the way to go and we should avoid looking for those 100x trades that are literally lottery tickets and have no real chance of winning. I know it’s tempting to follow the Gurus on Reddit who got rich by being lucky but this is not what Investing is really about. It’s about compounding your money over a long period of time. I hope you get some value out of the Video with Peter Lynch. I watched it for the first time a few days ago and It really stuck in my brain.
